Tom Murray Trio                                               

This group features Tom singing and playing sax, flute, and clarinet accompanied by an upright bass and a guitar (or piano). The trio is perfectly suited to small parties, clubs, or pre-wedding reception cocktail functions. Repertoire covers the American Songbook, Dixieland, and swing, with some rock classics thrown in for fun. Depending on the acoustics of the venue, the trio will play without amplification, giving it a unique and intimate presence-the perfect complement to your event.

Swing, jump, and jive with this hot five-piece band consisting of Tom on sax, clarinet, and vocals with a trumpet, bass, piano, and drums. Swing selections by Benny Goodman, Louis Prima, Glenn Miller, and even Elvis Presley will cause everyone to get up and dance. Also have a ball trying your luck with the rumba, cha-cha, tango, and mambo rhythms! This group is great for larger parties, clubs, and wedding receptions. (Additional musicians can be added: trombone, guitar, or female vocalist.)

This is a concert series featuring different Tin Pan Alley composers’ works set in contemporary arrangements with modern instrumentation. The first recording in this series is called Cole Porter Moods on HipBone Records.  It features eleven of Porter’s masterpieces, ranging in style from flamenco, techno raga, and reggae to smooth jazz, rock ballads, and psychedelic funk! Aside from Murray on saxes, flute, and vocals, the six- piece band includes acoustic/electric guitar, electric bass, synthesizer, drums, and acoustic and electric percussion. This group is perfect for festivals, concerts, large clubs, parties, and industrials.

This versatile group ranges in size from five to ten pieces and is great for wedding receptions and large parties. The repertoire has something for everyone, ranging from easy swing, ballads, and bossa novas to Motown, disco, funk, and rock. Programs and instrumentation can be tailored to meet your tastes, needs, and budget.

Tom Murray has contracted everything from twenty-three-piece orchestras, to rock bands, to chamber groups, to big bands. Tom’s roster includes hundreds of New York’s finest musicians.
